Print Council of Australia Commission

Inner Gorge, lithograph, 38 x 26 cm, 2013, edition of 47
This year I've had the honour of being involved with the 2013 Print Council of Australia Commission, which was recently launched at Northern Editions in Darwin and Art Est. in Sydney. Ten artists were selected to create new prints for the print commision program, which helps to raise funds for a great organisation: The Print Council of Australia. The judges were Anita Angel, Curator, Charles Darwin University and Chips Mckinolty, graphic artist and political advisor.

You can view the prints in the current issue of IMPRINT, in exhibition at Art Est. Art School and Gallery (67-69 Lords Road, Leichhardt, NSW) until 8th Oct and Northern Editions, (C.D.U., Darwin) until 25th Oct. The folio of prints is also available to view at the following venues until 26th Oct:  Flinders University City Gallery, State Library of South Australia, Adelaide,  QUT Art Museum, Brisbane, Megalo Print Studio and Gallery, Canberra, Fremantle Arts Centre, W.A., Handmark Gallery, Hobart, and Port Jackson Press Print Room, Melbourne! The prints are currently available for mail-order (forms can be found in all the above places as well as online.)

I really enjoyed the opportunity to visit the exhibition at Art Est. on Sept 21st as well as checking out the Sydney Contemporary Art Fair on same weekend! It was great to meet fellow commissioned artist Andrew Antoniou (pictured above, on the right holding his etching plate) and to give an artist talk together on the afternoon of the Sept 21st. Below are a few more photos from the event (special thanks to my Dad for coming along!):
